Oil drilling in the Gulf? Tar balls on Keys beaches?

OIL AND WATER DON'T MIX!

A Last Stand & Reef Relief joint Information Forum

What:   An information forum on latest proposals for oil leases in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico off of Florida's coast -- program followed by social hour and tour of the new NOAA facility

When:

At 6 PM on Monday, November 13, 2006
Where:   At NOAA's new Dr. Nancy Foster Eco-Discovery Center, at the Truman Waterfront, Key West (at the ocean end of Southard Street)

If proposed legislation is passed in the lame duck congress before the end of the year, there could be oil drilling close to the coast of Florida and this would have a profound effect on the quality of life in the Keys.

Last Stand and Reef Relief are holding an Information Forum at the newly opened Dr. Nancy Foster Eco-Discovery Center on Key West's Truman Waterfront to give you all the information you need to help us fight this plan.

Speakers include :

Deevon Quirolo, Executive Director of Reef Relief
George Neugent, County Commissioner, for Monroe County's position and perspective
Don DeMaria - Local professional diver/fisherman, underwater photographer, and researcher, on how oil drilling in the Gulf could effect local business
Bill Becker, US1 Radio News Director, for historic background on Keys opposition to oil drilling which could affect the Keys

Please come and help protect our seas and beaches
