Last Stand Blog

In our effort to educate and inform Keys residents about environmental and quality-of-life issues that relate especially to the Keys, Last Stand is bringing noted cruise ship expert and author Ross Klein to Key West.  He will be the featured speaker at our annual meeting January 20.  The meeting is open to the public.   From the January 18 Key West Citizen:

Cruise ship expert in town

The author of "Cruise Ship Blues" will be the featured speaker at Last Stand's annual meeting Tuesday.

Ross Klein will talk about the environmental and economic impacts of the cruise ship industry and answer questions. Klein has written two books and a number of articles and conducted several studies on the cruise industry. His writing has grown out of his experience as a cruise passenger and cruise enthusiast, having taken more than 30 cruises comprising 300 days.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at the future site of the NOAA Nancy Foster Environmental Center at the Truman Waterfront. The event is open to the public and free of charge.
